Paul Travis With politics going full bore this election season. The mudslinging has been the daily topic of discussion. This article is very interesting. Many people of color are appalled and offended by the Rep. Statement regarding slavery, from his own self-published book. After the much anticipated Presidential Debate, many have spoken of candidates lying and /or speaking truth. But is this racism or truth?

  2. We must understand that slavery was written about in Genesis. Descendants of Shem would become the Jews. Descendants of Japheth would become the Gentiles, and Descendants of Ham would become Canaanites. Canaanite would be cursed with slavery, by Noah! Canaanites are people of color!

  3. Genesis 9:25-27 (NASB)

    So he said,

    “Cursed be Canaan;

    A servant of servants
    He shall be to his brothers.”

    He also said, “Blessed be the Lord,
    The God of Shem;

    And let Canaan be his servant.
    “May God enlarge Japheth,
    And let him dwell in the tents of Shem;
    And let Canaan be his servant.”

  4. This is plain in the Holy Scriptures, and it is also plain that politicians will make up their own truth. Pontus Pilate who was Governor didn't know truth either.

  5. John 18:38
    Pilate *said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and *said to them, “ I find no guilt in Him.

  6. Rep. Jon Hubbard wrote in his 2009 self-published book, "Letters To The Editor: Confessions Of A Frustrated Conservative," that "the institution of slavery that the black race has long believed to be an abomination upon its people may actually have been a blessing in disguise." He also wrote that African-Americans were better off than they would have been had they not been captured and shipped to the United States.

  8. Matthew 19:29-30 (NASB)
    And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name’s sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last; and the last, first.

  9. Now as soon as people of color, let go of being offended by slavery, we will position ourselves to be first!!! Because that is what Jesus said. Don't be bound in slavery, by slavery. Jesus has redeemed ALL!!
